packaged.
PPC ships from inventory, not from orders.
Obviously, there is a transition time to begin a relationship with a new
private label account. After 90 days, PPC has a better understanding of
inventory movements for each account. This allows for shipment within
36-48 hours upon receipt of an order.
A customer representative is assigned to handle all orders, paperwork and
data processing for each account.
PPC handles all transportation outbound. Within a 400 mile radius of
Chicago, delivery is made by trailer transport. Beyond a 400 mile radius,
trailers are piggybacked through the railroad distribution system and local
cartage companies deliver to the customer's facility. Appointments are
made to make deliveries more efficient. Both modes of transportation
allow for most deliveries to arrive within two to three days from PPC to the
customer.
